JewishCard - a seller of fine art Jewish themed greeting and life event cards - started in 1997 and includes outlets in almost every state in the USA, as well as outlets in Canada, the UK, and Australia. We are pleased to serve accounts of all sizes, from large distributors to small synagogue shops, as well as the individual shopper. Our cards are available for all significant Jewish life events and holidays and range from the somber and comforting to tasteful humor. Each card comes with a white or bright colored matching envelope.
JewishCard features exceptional original art by exceptional artists in a greeting card format. Many of our cards were created by artist Terry Spodick, noted for her finely done calligraphy and watercolors. These cards were originally designed with hand lettering and watercolor paints and then digitally scanned. Artist Elisa Kleven is an accomplished and published children's book author and illustrator. Her artwork is a continual and intricate celebration of life using joyful images of children and animals. Talya Weinberg is a multi-talented freelance illustrator, and produced the wordless Whimsy series for JewishCard - clearly expressing meaning without the need for additional words. The Seated Scribe started with an interest in historical art, and produced the Illuminated set of notecards inspired by illuminated manuscripts from 13th century Germany. The Talmudic principle Bal tashchit is often interpreted as "do not destroy" but is also interpreted as "preserve and do not waste" and it reminds us to conserve resources. We strive to always be aware of the environmental impact of what we do. Printing is done using a wax based 'cartridge-less' technology that imparts high quality beautifully bright colors and a smooth finish, and results in little waste. We use smooth 80 pound cover stock made from Green Seal (http://www.greenseal.org/) certified 30% post-consumer-waste and purchased from a paper manufacturer using Green-e (www.green-e.org) certified 100% Renewable Energy Certificates from windpower projects.
